The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the February 2019 election, Atiku Abubakar, on Saturday said President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration had ruined Nigeria. In a statement by his media adviser, Mr Paul Ibe, Atiku said Nigerians in the past four years lived in multi-dimensional poverty. He said, the United Nations reawakened Nigerians to the perceived reality of how poorly the Buhari-led administration had managed the nation’s economy with a damning verdict that 98 million Nigerians live in multi-dimensional poverty. He said it was not surprising that Buhari and his handlers, didn’t make any comment about the scary statistics coming from the United Nations Development Programme. Super Eagles midfielders John Ogu and Oghenekaro Etebo paid a visit to Big Brother Naija housemates to officiate their Friday Night Arena Games of Friday, August 2.  It is routine for the housemates of the Big Brother Naija PepperDem season to compete in games every Friday.  For this Friday, the game was a series of football drills and the organisers of the show got Super Eagles stars Ogu and Etebo to officiate.  After introducing themselves, Ogu put the housemates through the drills before the midfielders watched and timed them during the drills.  The game was a good one  and omoshola  won  the Friday night  games 

Nicki Minaj is gradually heading towards becoming a wife and she plans to change her last name to soon to be husband, Kenneth Petty's name. SYDBLAZEBLOG  reports that while Nicki and Kenneth were at the marriage registry during the week, she agreed to change her name from  Onika Tanya Maraj  to  Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty . SYDBLAZEBLOG also reports that Nicki and Kenneth might have already tied the knot in a secret wedding. According to them, some of her friends flew into Los Angeles on Tuesday, July 30, 2019, where they stayed in a hotel for just two nights before leaving the city. There are also reports that they might also get married this weekend. It would be recalled that Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty got their marriage license during the week in a bid to make their union official.

FC Barcelona and Argentina captain Lionel Messi has been banned from international football for three months by the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) following his claim the Copa America was corrupt. The 32-year-old forward Messi was sent off during Argentina’s 2-1 third-place play-off defeat of Chile and he later said the competition was fixed for hosts Brazil.

The Ogun State Police Command on Saturday said it rescued one of the five Pastors abducted by suspected Fulani herdsmen. The Command, in a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said one of the victims, Deaconess Ibelegbo Chidinma, was rescued unhurt. He assured that the remaining four abductees would be rescued from the kidnappers’ den safe and sound. The statement reads, “The Ogun State Police Command has rescued Mrs Ibelegbo Chidinma the only woman amongst those abducted on Thursday unhurt. “The woman who is a Deaconess of The Redeemed Christian Church of God regained her freedom in the early hour of today 3rd of August 2019, and she is currently at the command’s headquarters in Abeokuta where arrangement is being made to take her to the Redemption Camp. Efforts is on top gear to rescue the remaining victims as the kidnappers who kept them in separate locations were changing their locations from time to time within the forest.” SYDBLAZ...

The National and State House of Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Benin City Friday listened to a tape of an alleged confession by an adhoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) purportedly detailing how the 2019 general elections were rigged in the state. From the tape tendered as evidence by Hon Ehiozuwa Agbonayinma, the INEC adhoc staff identified simply as Suleiman Ikhuoria served in Ward Six of Ikpoba-Okha local government area. Agbonayinma is challenging the election of Hon Jude Ise-Idehen as House of Representatives lawmaker for Ikpoba-Okha/Egor Federal Constituency. Ikhuoria was heard in a telephone conversation telling Agbonayinma who disguised as a ‘Ward Six’ Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that he has delivered on his part. Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has attacked Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, for speaking angrily after some of the church’s pastors were kidnapped yesterday. Reno Omokri wondered why the revered cleric had not been speaking out against the evils in the land untill now. SYDBLAZEBLOG reported yesterday that five ministers of RCCG were abducted by unknown gunmen on their way to the church’s Ministers’ Conference in Lagos. Fans have continued to express mixed feelings following the introduction of a new housemate, Cindy Okafor. SYDBLAZEBLOG  reports that she was introduced in the final phase of the three-day-long BBNaija twist on Thursday evening. Cindy is a photographer and videographer who runs an online radio and also produces social media comedy skits.
